The first time I went to Zurich a couple of years ago, a few short hours in transit, and immediately fell in love with the Swiss city I have been since the desire to return. While planning a trip with our partners, we decided that the best option for the destination we wanted to visit was to start and end in the same city.

Flights with Emirates flights offer the cheapest fares in Paris and surprise Surprise. So I added a chance to go back to what I’m sure is one of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland, and travel the route back and forth from Switzerland through Italy to France and back to where we were. Begin

With Eurail Global Passes in hand, we decided to look and do as much as possible in April and have enough time in each city, but not much (and quite frankly, not enough if you Ask me when you’ve had enough?) This is how we spent 48 hours in Zürich, our first destination at the Spring Eurotrip this year.

Check In: Storchen Hotel
We headed down to Zürich in the afternoon, so our first stop was heading straight to our hotel in the heart of the city, putting our bags tossed in new clothes and heading straight back to explore. I always find that fresh air is the best way for a jetlag, two for quick bathing. (Which gives the faithful to be as good as sleeping fluids) … but with very little time in the city we do not give ourselves time to be. Bath until evening, which at this time of year is around 19:00.

We check in on the Storchen Hotel, which has attracted my attention because of its good location on the river, walking distance from all major attractions and of course the Old Town. We also needed simple, no torches for the first stop in. Europe and both are thrilled with the elegant 4-star hotel. But humble

Dinner: AuGust
For evening dinners, I would like to dive first in local cuisine, so we chose a nearby restaurant called AuGust, located in an old butcher shop with modern black and white checkups and food. Simple, delicious.

Being vegetarian may seem like an odd choice. (Especially the meat menu is very stressful), but it is an opportunity for my partner to savor native dishes. (Which is usually stressed meat) and for myself to try some. Classic desserts in Swiss cuisine such as rosti and gratin potato.

For dessert, I try. cremeschnitte My first, which resembled a vanilla piece, came back home in Australia, although there are more pastries and more rich flavors in the center of the vanilla cream. The icing is super sweet. But when eating the whole, it brings the taste of the dessert to life, so be sure not to leave the debris on your plate!

Explore Zurich: Lindenhof Platz
As I can spend a week or so winding down the alleyway of Zurich, I will admit that full day exploration is sufficient to see all the cities available before traveling around. Mountainous country Much to offer.

To start your day, call Lindenhof Platz, a free viewing platform that offers views of the river and the old town and allows you to get your bearings in town. From there, the narrow alleys in each direction are best explored in no direction in any way, so please wait a moment to walk in whatever direction you imagine stopping at the chocolatiers and houses. Cafe Schober
When it’s time to stop and watch people with hot schokolade in hand, go straight to Cafe Schober, the most popular cafe in the city, and easily my favorite place to pass the time in a comfortable corner inside or in the air. Outdoor Cafe Schober is located in the Old Town of Zurich. (The other side of the Limmat River) and this is an ideal area for a few hours of sightseeing by a few short walks.

old City
From Lindenhofplatz The Limmat River and the Old Town of Zurich are within easy reach. While Zurich has the old charm of the old town, the old town is sure to be one of the most charming areas of leisure. If you have afternoon vacations, this is the fun way to experience this city with less planning and time. Below are photos of our casual walks around the Old Town and below. Lindenhofplatz on the other side of the river.
